TLDR
In this article, the authors examined the impact factors of population, economic level, technology level, urbanization level, GDP per capita, industrialization level and service level on the energy-related CO2 emissions in Guangdong Province, China from 1980 to 2010 using an extended STIRPAT model.

Impact of urbanization on per capita energy use and emissions in India

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of urbanization on energy consumption patterns by using the stochastic Impacts by Regression on Population, Affluence and Technology in India has been analyzed using time series data from the period of 1960 to 2015 and the results of the analysis also suggest that as urbanization, GDP and population are bound to increase in the future, consequently resulting in increased carbon dioxide emissions caused by increased energy demand and consumption.

Corporate governance mechanisms and corporate performance of firms in Nigeria and Ghana

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the impact of compliance and diligence index on corporate performance of firms in Nigeria and Ghana, and found that compliance index had a positive influence on ROA and ROE.

Carbon Emission and Economic Growth Modelof Beijing Based on Symbolic Regression

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper analyzed the relationship between economic development and environmental pollution by using the symbolic regression method, which is based on the data of per capita CO2 emissions, total energy consumption, energy intensity, and per capita GDP in Beijing city during 1980-2015.

Towards carbon neutrality by improving carbon efficiency - A system-GMM dynamic panel analysis for 131 countries’ carbon efficiency

Qiang Yang, +2 more
- 01 Jul 2022 -
TL;DR: In this paper , a dynamic panel data analysis with generalized method of moments (GMM) estimation was developed to investigate the effects of industrialization, and renewable energy on carbon emission efficiency, to uncover the interactive and influence channels among these influencing factors using 131 countries' panel data.

Ridge regression: biased estimation for nonorthogonal problems

TL;DR: In this paper, an estimation procedure based on adding small positive quantities to the diagonal of X′X was proposed, which is a method for showing in two dimensions the effects of nonorthogonality.

Impact of Population Growth

Paul R. Ehrlich, +1 more
- 26 Mar 1971 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors argue that population growth causes a disproportionate negative impact on the environment and that the control of population is necessary but not sufficient means of seeing us through the whole crisis of environmental deterioration.

Generalized Inverses, Ridge Regression, Biased Linear Estimation, and Nonlinear Estimation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss a class of biased linear estimators employing generalized inverses and establish a unifying perspective on nonlinear estimation from nonorthogonal data.

STIRPAT, IPAT and ImPACT: analytic tools for unpacking the driving forces of environmental impacts

TL;DR: In this paper, the STIRPAT model is augmented with measures of ecological elasticity, which allows for a more precise specification of the sensitivity of environmental impacts to the forces driving them.

Multicollinearity in Regression Analysis; the Problem Revisited

TL;DR: An attempt is made to define multicollinearity in terms of departures from a hypothesized statistical condition, and measures are proposed here that fill this need.
