TL;DR: A. vasorum (Baillet, 1866) last sich nach den heutigen Kenntnissen nicht ausschliesen; als Ursache fur zentralnervose Erkrankungen des Menschen kommt dieser Parasit jedoch hochstwahrscheinlich nicht in Betracht, da die Larven auch im spezifischen Endwirt nicht einwandern.

TL;DR: It is recommended that canine angiostrongylosis should now be included in the differential diagnosis of coughing Belgian dogs, and identification of affected dogs may be aided by quantitative PCR on broncho-alveolar lavage fluid.
