Extended model for a hybrid production planning approach

TLDR
This paper proposes an extended linear programming model for a similar hybrid approach and shows that the proposed approach finds the better solution in a less number of iterations compared to the approach by Byrne and Bakir.

Production-distribution planning in supply chain considering capacity constraints

TL;DR: In this paper, a hybrid approach combining the analytic and simulation model is proposed to solve the integrated production-distribution problems in supply chain management (SCM), where operation time in the analytic model is considered as a dynamic factor and adjusted by the results from independently developed simulation model.

A review and critique on integrated production–distribution planning models and techniques

TL;DR: A comprehensive review and critique on the current integrated production-distribution (P-D) planning and optimisation literature is provided in this paper, where the authors classify the published P-D planning models into seven categories based on their degree of complexity and hence capability in addressing real-life scenarios.

Fuzzy multi-objective production/distribution planning decisions with multi-product and multi-time period in a supply chain

TL;DR: The proposed FMOLP model provides a systematic framework that facilitates fuzzy decision-making process, enabling the decision maker (DM) to interactively adjust the search direction during the solution procedure to obtain a DM's preferred satisfactory solution.

Integrated multi-period cell formation and subcontracting production planning in dynamic cellular manufacturing systems

TL;DR: An integrated mathematical model of the multi-period cell formation and production planning in a dynamic cellular manufacturing system (DCMS) is proposed with the aim of minimizing machine, inter/intra-cell movement, reconfiguration, partial subcontracting, and inventory carrying costs.

Production planning with resources subject to congestion

TL;DR: A mathematical programming model for production planning in multiproduct, single stage systems that captures the nonlinear dependency between workload and lead times is developed and used to obtain a linear programming formulation and extend it to multistage systems.

A production planning methodology for semiconductor manufacturing based on iterative simulation and linear programming calculations

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors introduce a methodology for automated production planning of semiconductor manufacturing based on iterative linear programming (LP) optimization and discrete-event simulation calculations and demonstrate in experiments on an industry data set that a relatively small number of iterations is required to develop a production plan correctly characterizing future flow times as a function of factory load and product mix.

Production planning using a hybrid simulation – analytical approach

TL;DR: This paper studies a hybrid algorithm combining mathematical programming and simulation models of a manufacturing system for the MPMP problem, and demonstrates how the analytic model working in co-operation with the simulation model can give better results than either method alone.

Capacity driven due date settings in make-to-order production systems

TL;DR: A linear capacity planning model is proposed for dealing with problems of load leveling in bottleneck departments over a planning horizon and the proposed multi-stage planning system is applied for planning production in a manufacturing company which makes/assembles custom kitchen cupboards.
