This paper presents a generic and flexible architecture for emotional agents, with what it considers to be the minimum set of functionalities that allows us to implement and compare different appraisal theories in a given scenario.Abstract:
This paper presents a generic and flexible architecture for emotional agents, with what we consider to be the minimum set of functionalities that allows us to implement and compare different appraisal theories in a given scenario. FAtiMA Modular, the architecture proposed is composed of a core algorithm and by a set of components that add particular functionality (either in terms of appraisal or behaviour) to the architecture, which makes the architecture more flexible and easier to extend.read more

Computational Modeling of Emotion: Toward Improving the Inter- and Intradisciplinary Exchange
Rainer Reisenzein,Eva Hudlicka,Mehdi Dastani,Jonathan Gratch,Koen V. Hindriks,Emiliano Lorini,John-Jules Ch. Meyer +6 more
TL;DR: Three proposals for systematizing and classifying the assumptions of psychological emotion theories and formalizing emotion theories in implementation-independent formal languages and modeling emotions using general cognitive architectures, general agent architectures or general-purpose affective agent architectures are made.

Group-based Emotions in Teams of Humans and Robots
TL;DR: Results showed that participants perceived the robot that expresses group-based emotions as more likeable and attributed higher levels of group identification and group trust towards their teams, when compared to the robotic partner that expresses individual- based emotions.

Computational Approaches to Modeling Artificial Emotion – An Overview of the Proposed Solutions
TL;DR: Cybernetic approach to modeling artificial emotion through the use of different theories of psychology is considered, presenting a review of twelve proposed solutions: ActAffAct, FLAME, EMA, ParleE, FearNot!
Computational Models of Emotion and Cognition
TL;DR: This paper begins by classifying and organizing an enumeration of recent models and systems and then discusses some of the landmark models from the literature, such as EMA and WASABI.

Appraisal processes in emotion: Theory, methods, research.
TL;DR: Appraisal theory has become one of the most active aproaches in the domain of emotion psychology as mentioned in this paper, which is defined as the subjective evaluation that occurs during the individual's encounter with significant events in the environment, thus determining the nature of the emotional reaction and experience.

Appraisals of emotion-eliciting events: Testing a theory of discrete emotions.
TL;DR: This article tested hypotheses from the latest version of the theory and compared them with hypotheses derived from appraisal theories proposed by Arnold (1960) and by Scherer (1988), using procedures designed to address some prior methodological problems.
