TLDR
In this article, the Nusselt number as a function of both Γ, the parameter controlling viscous dissipation, and Λ, the non-Newtonian parameter, is computed for the flow of a fluid of grade three between heated parallel plates.
Abstract
The flow of a fluid of grade three between heated parallel plates is examined for two cases. In the first instance we postulate constant heat flux at the walls and via a similarity transformation calculate the Nusselt number as a function of both Γ, the parameter controlling viscous dissipation, and Λ, the non-Newtonian parameter. In the second case we restrict the temperature to change only normal to the plates; solutions in this case are obtained for two temperature-viscosity models, μ = μ ( θ ).

Effects of variable viscosity and viscous dissipation on the flow of a third grade fluid in a pipe

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the flow of an incompressible, thermodynamically compatible fluid of grade three in a pipe, where the temperature of the pipe is assumed to be higher than that of the fluid, and the shear viscosity of the liquid was modeled as a function of the temperature.

Hydromagnetic flow in a viscoelastic fluid due to the oscillatory stretching surface

TL;DR: In this article, an analysis is carried out to study the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) two-dimensional boundary layer flow of a second grade viscoelastic fluid over an oscillatory stretching surface, which is induced due to an infinite elastic sheet which is stretched back and forth in its own plane.

Approximate analytical solutions for the flow of a third-grade fluid in a pipe

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered the flow of a third-grade fluid in a pipe with heat transfer and presented approximate analytical solutions for each case using perturbations, which were compared with the finite difference solutions given in Massoudi and Christie (Int. Non-Linear Mech. 30 (1995) 687-699) and within admissible parameter range, a close match was achieved.

Heat transfer in micropolar fluid along an inclined permeable plate with variable fluid properties

TL;DR: In this article, the heat transfer process in a two-dimensional steady hydromagnetic natural convective flow of a micropolar fluid over an inclined permeable plate subjected to a constant heat flux condition was studied.

Flow of a generalized second grade fluid between heated plates

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the fully developed flow of a generalized fluid of second grade between heated parallel plates, due to a pressure gradient along the plate, and obtained the solution for the case when the temperature changes only in the direction normal to the plates for the two most commonly used viscosity models.

Stress-Deformation Relations for Isotropic Materials

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the mechanics of a homogeneous isotropic ideally elastic material may be developed on the basis of a description of the relevant elastic properties of the material in terms of a strain energy function W which is a single-valued function of three scalar invariants of the deformation, I 1, I 2 and I 3.

Thermodynamics and stability of fluids of third grade

TL;DR: In this paper, the Clausius-Duhem inequality for non-Newtonian incompressible fluids of the differential type was introduced, and a set of thermodynamic constraints on the Helmholtz free energy density were established.
