Fourier Transform Infrared and Raman Spectroscopic Study of the Local Structure of Mg-, Ni-, and Co-Hydrotalcites

TLDR
In this article, the FT-IR and FT-Raman spectroscopy were used to characterize synthetic Mg-, Ni- and Co-hydrotalcite, and they showed that the composition changes brought about by changing the divalent metal result in small but significant changes in band positions of the modes related to the hydroxyl groups.

Structural aspects of layered double hydroxides

TL;DR: A review of experimental and theoretical studies of the structure of LDHs can be found in this article, highlighting areas of consensus and currently unresolved issues, including the range of composition for which LDH may be formed, possible layer stacking polytypes, arrangement of guest species in the interlayer galleries and the extent of order-disorder phenomena, both long-range and short-range, in the layers and inter-layer galleries.

Infrared and Raman study of interlayer anions CO32–, NO3–, SO42– and ClO4– in Mg/Al-hydrotalcite

TL;DR: In this article, the difference in the local environment of CO32−, NO3−, SO42−, and ClO4− in Mg/Al-hydrotalcite compared to the free anions was studied by infrared and Raman spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exploring, tuning, and exploiting the basicity of hydrotalcites for applications in heterogeneous catalysis.

TL;DR: The aim is to provide the tools for understanding how series of parameters involved in the preparation of hydrotalcite-based catalytic materials can be employed to control and adapt the basic properties of the catalyst towards the basicity demanded by each target chemical reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Layered double hydroxide as an efficient drug reservoir for folate derivatives

TL;DR: This study clearly shows that LDH not only plays a role as a biocompatible-delivery matrix for drugs but also facilitates a significant increase in the delivery efficiency.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solvothermal synthesis of NiCo-layered double hydroxide nanosheets decorated on RGO sheets for high performance supercapacitor

TL;DR: In this paper, NiCo-LDH/RGO composite electrodes exhibit excellent super-capacitive properties, and deliver a maximum specific capacitance of 1911.1 ǫ 1.1

Physico-chemical properties of synthetic hydrotalcites in relation to composition

TL;DR: Ahstraet et al. as discussed by the authors used coprecipitation followed by hydrothermal treatment between 150 ~ and 250~C. Based on the structural formula [Mgl_xAlx(OH)~lX+l(COz)x/2 9 mH20] x-, pure solid solutions were formed in the range Al/(Al + Mg) = 0.2 to 0.33, where m = (1 - 3x/ 2).
