TLDR
In this paper, the authors applied the direct simulation Monte Carlo method to investigate the outflow of rarefied gas into vacuum over a forward and backward-facing step, and the non-equilibrium effects at the ends of the step channel were taken into account by considering the geometry of sufficiently large regions directly adjacent to the inlet and outlet of the channel.

Shock wave-boundary layer interaction in supersonic flow over a forward-facing step

TL;DR: In this paper, a Mach 2.5 flow over a forward-facing step is studied, where the focus is the flow ahead of the step, in particular, the unsteady interactions between the shock, the boundary layer and the separation bubble.

Energy analysis of magnetite nanofluid flowing in newly designed sudden expansion tube retrofitted with dimpled fin

TL;DR: In this article , forced convection of magnetite nanofluid flow in various expansion ratios has been investigated numerically in the case of Dimpled Tube (DT) 9, and the highest value of performance evaluation criteria (PEC) has been obtained at φ=2.0 vol.

The First and Second Law Analyses of Thermodynamics for CoFe2O4/H2O Flow in a Sudden Expansion Tube Inserted Elliptical Dimpled Fins

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the effect of the elliptical dimpled fins and its arrays in the sudden expansion tube in terms of thermodynamics laws (energy and entropy generations).

Rarefied gas flow into vacuum through linearly diverging and converging channels

TL;DR: Using the direct simulation Monte Carlo direct method, rarefied gas flow into a vacuum through linearly diverging and gradually diverging channels has been studied in this article , where the problem has been solved in the complete geometrical setup, namely with including certain pre-and post-channel regions in the geometry under consideration.

Experimental and Theoretical Investigation of Backward-Facing Step Flow

TL;DR: In this paper, the velocity distribution and reattachment length of a single backward-facing step mounted in a two-dimensional channel were measured using laser-Doppler measurements.

Lattice boltzmann model for the incompressible navier-stokes equation

TL;DR: Numerical results of simulations of the plane Poiseuille flow driven either by pressure gradient or a fixed velocity profile at entrance as well as of the 2D Womersley flow are presented and are found to be in excellent agreement with theory.
