The maximum clique problems with applications to graph coloring

Qinghua Wu
TL;DR: This thesis has developed an adaptive multistart tabu search approach for the classic maximum clique problem, a multi-neighborhoodtabu search algorithm for the maximum vertex weight clique and a hybrid metaheuristic method for themaximum edge weight cliques problem.
Journal ArticleDOI

Efficient Diagnosis Protocol to Enhance the Reliability of a Cloud Computing Environment

TL;DR: The FCA (Fast Cloud Agreement) protocol is proposed to enhance the reliability of the cloud computing environment in this paper and can reach an agreement and detect faulty processors by using a minimum number of messages simultaneously and efficiently.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of topological planarity and reliability for interference reduction in radio sensor networks

TL;DR: It can be demonstrated that by enforcing a planar network topology combined with the requirement of minimum-pathloss between connections, one can achieve a gain in signal-to-noise and interference ratio (SNIR) by a few decibels with respect to standards spanning methods.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

An efficient biogeography-based optimization algorithm for smart radial distribution power system reconfiguration

TL;DR: The present paper describes the application of the biogeography-based optimization approach to determine the optimal real time reconfiguration in radial distribution smart networks to minimize the active power loss.
Journal ArticleDOI

Promoting Institutional Repositories via Visualizations: A Change-Point Study

TL;DR: This article examines whether implementing visualizations on an institutional repository webpage increases traffic on the site, and two methods for creating visualizations to attract faculty and student interest were employed.
