Kinetics and stereoregulation in the isotactic‐specific and living polymerization of methyl methacrylate

TL;DR: In this paper, isotactic-specific living polymerization of methyl methacrylate with t-C4H9MgBr was carried out in toluene at −78°C and the kinetic orders with respect to the monomer and initiator were found to be unity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and Photophysical Characterization of Group Transfer Polymers with Pendent Aryl Chromophores

TL;DR: In this article, Naphthalene-and pyrene-labeled polymers (poly-3−5) prepared by group transfer polymerization of methyl 2-(2-naphthyl)acrylate, methyl 2-1-pyrenyl) acrylate and ethyl 5-(2)-hexadienoate, respectively, were studied as probes for backbone conformational rigidity.

Group-transfer polymerization of tert-butyl methacrylate and [3-(methacryloxy)propyl]pentamethyldisiloxane : Synthesis and characterization of homopolymers and random and block copolymers

TL;DR: In this paper, a synthetic approach for preparing block copolymers consisting of both a [3-(methacryloxy)propyl]pentamethyldisiloxane (SiMA) block and tert-butyl methacrylate (t-BMA), using group-transfer polymerization (GTP), was developed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of AB block and A2B2 and A3B3 miktoarm star-shaped copolymers using ω-end-functionalized poly(methyl methacrylate) with a hydroxyl group prepared by organocatalyzed group transfer polymerization

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of the employed catalysts, polymer chain length, and benzaldehyde derivatives on the ω-end functionalization efficiency (%F) were investigated in detail, and the electrophilic termination of the living PMMA end with benzaldehyde as the terminator produced a structurally defect-free ω end-functionalized PMMA with a hydroxyl group (PMMA-OH).
