TLDR
In this article, the water side heat transfer coefficients without air flow from a single horizontal tube are determined and the total energy dissipated by inside hot fluid when only water is falling is compared with that when both the air and water flow past the tube.

Evaporative cooling of a falling water film on horizontal tubes

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of experiments on evaporative cooling of water falling freely from one horizontal tube to the next one below it are presented in the same vertical plane, and an empirical equation for calculating the evaporative water cooling is recommended.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heat and mass transfer from a horizontal tube of an evaporative heat dissipator

TL;DR: In this paper, the mass transfer coefficient with simultaneous water and air flow has been determined experimentally and its variation is studied and found to range from 0.85 to 1.78.

Design and Optimization of an Evaporative Condenser: A Detailed Review

TL;DR: In this paper , a literature review performed reveals that by implementing innovative adding-s like water pads, forced induced method, type of nozzles and spray direction, low-finned elliptical tubes, inorganic filler, corrugated plates, multiple pairs of finned channels, internal baffles, air velocity and its direction, L/G ratios results in increasing the performance of the system.

Performance of an Evaporative Condenser: A Review

TL;DR: In this article , a methodology for engineers to follow whilst working on evaporative-cooled heat exchangers is presented, and a method for increasing performance is discovered, and the research with several kinds of evaporative condensers is investigated, it was possible to boost the system's performance by incorporating features like water beds, forced method, exhaust procedure above nozzles, tapering walls to the sump, dome-shaped fans and elliptical (oval) tube designs.

An Experimental Study of Falling Liquid Film Breakdown on a Horizontal Cylinder During Heat Transfer

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental investigation was conducted with subcooled water film flowing over an electrically heated horizontal cylinder, and the combinations of film flow rate and heat flux at which film breakdown occurs (i.e., dry patches appear on the surface) were determined.
Journal ArticleDOI

An experimental investigation of dryout heat flux on a horizontal nonisothermal tube during heat transfer

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental investigation of film breakdown heat flux for water film flowing over a heat dissipator tube inside which hot fluid flows is presented, and the influence of flow rate on dryout heat flux and on heat transfer prior to dryout for tube with longer usuage is presented.
