Heterogeneous quenching and partitioning from manganese-partitioned pearlite: retained austenite modification and formability improvement
TLDR
In this article , the authors proposed a heterogeneous Q&P process based on Mn-heterogeneous austenite inherited from Mn-partitioned pearlite, which achieved a large RA fraction being dominant by film morphology.About:

Local microstructure and mechanical characteristics of HAZ and tensile behavior of laser welded QP980 joints
Junliang Xue,Wei Guo,Yongxin Zhang,Mingsheng Xia,Qiang Jia,Jia Dong Chi,Jiaxin Shi,Ying Wu,Hongqiang Zhang +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the thermocouple and Gleeble1500 system were used to achieve the thermal simulated HAZ specimens of laser welded joints, which solved the problem that it was difficult to evaluate the mechanical properties due to the narrow HAZ of the laser welding.

Simultaneous enhancement of strength and ductility in a medium carbon low-alloy steel induced by secondary martensite and Cu-rich particles
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors aim to simultaneously improve the strength and ductility of a medium carbon low-alloy steel via Cu addition and the partitioning treatment, and the results showed that the distribution of temper martensite and bainitic ferrite were correlated, which was apt to improve the coordinated deformation between the neighboring phases.

Effectively improving the hardness-strength-toughness of carburized bearing steel via nanoprecipitates and fine grain structure
Qiang Guo,Hanghang Liu,Chengxin Sun,Hongwei Liu,Yanfei Cao,Lei Jing Wang,Xin Cai,Paixian Fu,Pei Wang,Dianzhong Li +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the beneficial effects of a cryogenic treatment on the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of a gradient-structured carburized M50NiL bearing steel.

The Mechanism of Plastic Deformation of Crystals. Part I. Theoretical
TL;DR: In this article, the authors defined the ration of the relative lateral movement of two parallel planes of slip to the distance between them, defined in the same way as the shear strain considered in the theory of elasticity.

Dislocations in a simple cubic lattice
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors calculate the activation energy of dislocations in a perfect lattice and show that the energy of a dislocation can be estimated by an approximate method due to Peierls.

The contrast factors of dislocations in cubic crystals: the dislocation model of strain anisotropy in practice
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple procedure for the experimental determination of C¯ has been worked out, enabling the determination of the character of the dislocations in terms of a simple parameter q. The C¯ factors and q parameters were parametrized by simple analytical functions, which can be used in a straightforward manner in numerical analyses, as e.g. in Rietveld structure refinement procedures.

The dislocation distribution, flow stress, and stored energy in cold-worked polycrystalline silver
J. E. Bailey,P. B. Hirsch +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the distribution and densities of dislocations, determined by electron transmission microscopy, flow stress and stored energy measurements (by microcalorimetry) on cold-worked polycrystalline silver are correlated with each other.
