Passivity and passivity breakdown on copper: In situ and operando observation of surface oxides

TL;DR: In this paper, in situ spectroscopic ellipsometry was used to investigate the oxide growth and stability on copper, while the nature of oxides was studied through in situ Raman spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Suppression of superconductivity in high-Tc cuprates due to nonmagnetic impurities: Implications for the order parameter symmetry

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of nonmagnetic impurities on high-temperature superconductors were studied by solving the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations on a two-dimensional lattice via exact diagonalization technique in a fully selfconsistent way.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetically modulated microwave absorption studies on high-Tc powdered materials

TL;DR: In this paper, a model that combines a model based on the existence of a critical state with pinning and depinning of fluxons during a modulation cycle and a weak link model, can account for the observed temperature and particle-size dependence of zero field line and hysteresis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Advantages of High- T c Cuprates over Semiconductors for Making Room Temperature Electronic Devices

TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate that the high Tc cuprates in the pseudogap states have many advantages over the semiconductors for making room temperature electronic devices, and they predict that the Pseudo-Gap Body will replace the semiconductor in many applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

An efficient AC susceptibility technique to study flux creep in HTS thin films

TL;DR: In this article, the temperature and field dependent dynamical relaxation rate for epitaxial c-axis oriented YBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7/ (Y-123) and HgBa/(sub dc/>2H/sub ac)/f (Hg-1212) thin films using an efficient ac susceptibility technique was determined.

Possible high Tc superconductivity in the Ba-La-Cu-O system

TL;DR: In this paper, Ba−La−Cu−O system, with the composition BaxLa5−xCu5O5(3−y) have been prepared in polycrystalline form, and samples with x=1 and 0.75,y>0, annealed below 900°C under reducing conditions, consist of three phases, one of them a perovskite-like mixed-valent copper compound.

Superconductivity at 93 K in a new mixed-phase Y-Ba-Cu-O compound system at ambient pressure

TL;DR: A stable and reproducible superconductivity transition between 80 and 93 K has been unambiguously observed both resistively and magnetically in a new Y-Ba-Cu-O compound system at ambient pressure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bulk superconductivity at 91 K in single-phase oxygen-deficient perovskite Ba 2 YCu 3 O 9 − δ

TL;DR: Observation de la transition supraconductrice a 91 K, sur 1,5 K and determination of the densite de courant critique, de l'effet Meissner, du champ critique, du parametre de Sommerfeld, de parametres GL.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bulk superconductivity at 36 K in La1.8Sr0.2CuO4.

TL;DR: The results of resistivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements in La/sub 2-//sub x/Sr/sub X/CuO/sub 4/ for x less than or equal to 0.3 were reported in this article.
