Journal ArticleDOI

Computational methods of linear algebra

TL;DR: A survey of computational methods in linear algebra can be found in this article, where the authors discuss the means and methods of estimating the quality of numerical solution of computational problems, the generalized inverse of a matrix, the solution of systems with rectangular and poorly conditioned matrices, and more traditional questions such as algebraic eigenvalue problems and systems with a square matrix.
Journal ArticleDOI

Linear least squares solutions by householder transformations

TL;DR: In this paper, the euclidean norm is unitarily invariant and a vector x is determined such that x is parallel b-Ax parallel = \parallel c - QAx parallel where c denotes the first n components of c.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of turbulence on the surface pressure field of a square prism

TL;DR: In this article, the mean and fluctuating pressure field acting on a two-dimensional square cylinder in uniform and turbulent flows was measured and the addition of turbulence to the flow was shown to raise the base pressure and reduce the drag of the body.
Journal ArticleDOI

Computational modeling of cardiovascular response to orthostatic stress

TL;DR: A model of the cardiovascular system capable of simulating the short-term transient and steady-state hemodynamic responses to head-up tilt and lower body negative pressure is developed and orthostatic stress simulations are not statistically different from experimental data.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the calculation and interpretation of centrifugal distortion constants: A statistical basis for model testing: The calculation of the force field

TL;DR: In this article, the relationship between the distortion parameters and the force field for XYZ-type molecules is reviewed in order to remove ambiguities and inconsistencies presently found in the literature, and procedures for exploiting the statistics associated with a least square analysis of the data are presented as a guide for model testing and for detecting misassignments and mismeasurements.
