χ(2800) as a four-quark system

The spectra and dominant decay couplings of ${Q}^{2}{\overline{Q}}^{2}$ mesons are presented as calculated in the quark-bag model. Certain known ${0}^{+}$ mesons [$\ensuremath{\epsilon}(700),{S}^{*},\ensuremath{\delta},\ensuremath{\kappa}$] are assigned to the lightest cryptoexotic ${Q}^{2}{\overline{Q}}^{2}$ nonet. The usual quark-model ${0}^{+}$ nonet ($Q\overline{Q} L=1$) must lie higher in mass. All other ${Q}^{2}{\overline{Q}}^{2}$ mesons are predicted to be broad, heavy, and usually inelastic in formation processes. Other ${Q}^{2}{\overline{Q}}^{2}$ states which may be experimentally prominent are discussed.

Multiquark hadrons. I. Phenomenology of Q 2 Q̄ 2 mesons

The explicit determination of the matrices of the generators of the unitary groups, SUn, is carried out and discussed in two alternative treatments: (a) by purely algebraic infinitesimal methods, and (b) by Young‐pattern techniques employing the Schwinger‐Bargmann boson operator methods. The implication of this result for a tableau calculus is discussed and a determination of the [λ] × [1] Wigner coefficient for all SUn is indicated.

On the Representations of the Semisimple Lie Groups. II

A model is proposed in which a baryon consists of a boson and fermion deeply bound in a potential. The fermion can be regarded as a quark and the boson as a bound state of two quarks. In the model, the mass splitting of the different isospin multiplets among the baryons arises partly from mass splittings within the boson and fermion multiplets and partly from a symmetry-breaking interaction. The isospin-conserving mass splittings within the boson and fermion multiplets, as well as the symmetry-breaking interaction, are assumed to be proportional to the hypercharge. Under the assumption that these mass splittings and symmetry-breaking interactions are small, it is found that the seven baryon mass splittings which conserve isospin are given in terms of four parameters, and that the Gell-Mann-Okubo mass formula holds. Some effects of representation mixing are considered.

The concept of a noninvariance group is introduced by considering some classical systems. This is then used to study properties of strongly interacting particles. A logically consistent way of deriving static properties such as magnetic moments and electromagnetic mass differences, as well as predictions regarding scattering cross sections, is described.
