TLDR
Laser-raman spectroscopy of the alumina-supported rhenium oxide metathesis catalyst was performed in this article, and it was shown that rhenia is present as a single species, consisting of tetrahedrally coordinated ReO(-1) ions which are dynamically distored by the carrier or surface hydroxyl ions.
