Low molecular weight RNA in cell components of Chironomus tentans salivary glands.

TLDR
The results suggest that 4 s RNA is formed from RNA of slower migration rate in chromosomes, nuclear sap and cytoplasm, and in the nucleolus, label appears immediately in the 4 s position and the profile does not show any evidence of shifts with aging in the migration properties of the fractions.

The 5 s RNA genes of Drosophila melanogaster.

TL;DR: It was concluded that few, if any, of the 5 s genes reside in the X or Y chromosomes, and therefore that most, if not all, ofThe genes for 5 s RNA are located in the autosomes.

Ribonucleic acid maturation in animal cells.

TL;DR: It is concluded that discussions can be made for and against RNA maturation processes being beneficial to higher organisms, but at the moment these are only hypothetical and no convincing evidence is available to support any one in particular.

Morphology and structure of polytene chromosomes.

TL;DR: This chapter focuses on the gene mapping and building of cytogenetic maps, as well as on problems pertaining to the genetic organization of the main morphological structures of polytene chromosomes—the chromomeres and interchromomeric regions.

The fractionation of high-molecular-weight ribonucleic acid by polyacrylamide-gel electrophoresis.

UE Loening
- 01 Jan 1967 -
TL;DR: Electrophoresis in 2.2-2.6% gels gives a fractionation similar to density-gradient centrifugation, and the resolution is greater and more detailed than by centrifugations, and many samples can be analysed simultaneously and rapidly.

Electrophoretic separation of viral nucleic acids on polyacrylamide gels

TL;DR: The elution of viral RNA from gel slices and the demonstration of infectivity after electrophoresis are described, showing a general relationship between the logarithm of the molecular weight and the relative electrophoretic mobility.

Small molecular weight monodisperse nuclear RNA.

TL;DR: The nuceloplasm and nucleolus of HeLa cells contain six distinct low molecular weight species of RNA that are long-lived and do not appear to be precursor to any cytoplasmic product.
