This correspondence establishes lower bounds on how small the cross correlation and autocorrelation can simultaneously be.Abstract:
Some communication systems require sets of signals with impulse-like autocorrelation functions and small cross correlation. There is considerable literature on signals with impulse-like autocorrelation functions hut little on sets of signals with small cross correlation. A possible reason is that designers put too severe a restriction on cross correlation magnitudes. This correspondence establishes lower bounds on how small the cross correlation and autocorrelation can simultaneously be.read more

Crosscorrelation properties of pseudorandom and related sequences
TL;DR: This paper presents a survey of recent results and provides several new results on the periodic and aperiodic crosscorrelation functions for pairs of m-sequences and for Pair of related (but not maximal-length) binary shift register sequences.

Unitary space-time modulation for multiple-antenna communications in Rayleigh flat fading
TL;DR: This work designs some multiple-antenna signal constellations and simulates their effectiveness as measured by bit-error probability with maximum-likelihood decoding and demonstrates that two antennas have a 6-dB diversity gain over one antenna at 15-dB SNR.

High-Resolution Radar via Compressed Sensing
M.A. Herman,Thomas Strohmer +1 more
TL;DR: A stylized compressed sensing radar is proposed in which the time-frequency plane is discretized into an N times N grid and the techniques of compressed sensing are employed to reconstruct the target scene.

Grassmannian frames with applications to coding and communication
Thomas Strohmer,Robert W. Heath +1 more
TL;DR: The application of Grassmannian frames to wireless communication and to multiple description coding is discussed and their connection to unit norm tight frames for frames which are generated by group-like unitary systems is discussed.

Polyphase codes with good periodic correlation properties (Corresp.)
TL;DR: This correspondence describes the construction of complex codes of the form exp i \alpha_k whose discrete circular autocorrelations are zero for all nonzero lags.
Complementary series
TL;DR: These series, which were originally conceived in connection with the optical problem of multislit spectrometry, also have possible applications in communication engineering, for when the two kinds of elements of these series are taken to be +1 and -1, it follows immediately from their definition that the sum of their two respective autocorrelation series is zero everywhere, except for the center term.

Polyphase codes with good nonperiodic correlation properties
TL;DR: N -phase Codes are described which have an autocorrelation function with one main peak and very small side peaks and doppler shift effects appear to be similar to those of linear FM radar pulse compression.

Complementary sets of sequences
Chin-Chong Tseng,Chun-Hung Liu +1 more
TL;DR: It is shown that matrices consisting of mutually orthogonal complementary sets of sequences can be used as operators so as to per form transformations and inverse transformations on a one- or two-dimensional array of real time or spatial functions.
