Milk trace elements in lactating cows environmentally exposed to higher level of lead and cadmium around different industrial units.

TLDR
It is concluded that increased blood and milk lead or cadmium level as a result of natural exposure of lactating cows to these environmental toxicants significantly influences trace minerals composition of milk and such alterations affect the milk quality and nutritional values.

Lead and cadmium concentrations in goat, cow, sheep, and buffalo milks from different regions of Iran.

TL;DR: In total, 137 goat, cow, sheep, and buffalo milk samples were collected in different regions of Iran and analysed to determine concentrations of lead and cadmium by a graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometric method, which revealed lower concentrations in animals aged ≤3 years and higher concentrations in those aged >3 years.
Journal ArticleDOI

Concentrations of toxic heavy metals and trace elements in raw milk of Simmental and Holstein-Friesian cows from organic farm

TL;DR: The conducted research showed that the milk of Simmental cows was characterized by the more advantageous mineral composition and lower concentration of noxious heavy metals compared to the Milk of Holstein-Friesian cows.
Journal ArticleDOI

Trace element levels in raw milk from northern and southern regions of Croatia

TL;DR: A total of 157 raw milk samples were collected from tankers arriving at processing facilities from rural areas in northern and southern regions of Croatia during 2009 and 2010 Concentrations of As, Cd, Cu, Hg and Pb in the samples were analysed by graphite furnace-atomic absorption spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heavy metals and trace elements levels in milk and milk products

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the potential health risks of metals to humans via consumption of milk and dairy products and determined the concentrations of lead, cadmium, zinc, copper, and iron in milk.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heavy metals levels in raw cow milk and health risk assessment across the globe: A systematic review.

TL;DR: The Target Hazard Quotients of Hg were below 1 suggesting that milk consumers are not at a non-carcinogenic risk except in Faisalabad province (Pakistan) where THQ values = 7.7.

The chronic toxicity of aluminium, cadmium, mercury, and lead in birds: a review.

TL;DR: It is concluded that significant physiological and biochemical responses to such exposure conditions occur at dietary metal concentrations insufficient to cause signs of overt toxicity, particularly important are reproductive effects which include decreased egg production, decreased hatchability, and increased hatchling mortality.
