TLDR
Mossbauer spectra of bulk and microcrystalline hematite have been analyzed at the Morin transition for both the weak-ferromagnetic (WF) and anti-ferrous (AF) phases simultaneously, increasing precision in the extracted Mossbauer parameters.About:

Synthesis, properties, and applications of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles
Amyn S. Teja,Pei Yoong Koh +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the properties, applications, and syntheses of three magnetic iron oxides (hematite, magnetite, and maghemite) are discussed and methods of preparation that allow control over the size, morphology, surface treatment and magnetic properties of their nanoparticles.

Effect of pH on the formation of goethite and hematite from ferrihydrite
U. Schwertmann,E. Murad +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the existence of two competitive formation processes is suggested: goethite is formed via solution, preferably from monovalent Fe(III) ions [Fe(OH)2+ and Fe(OH 4−], and hematite by internal rearrangement and dehydration within the ferrihydrite aggregates.

Magnetic Properties of Rocks and Minerals
TL;DR: In this article, an updated collation of magnetic parameters of rocks and minerals for geologists, geochemists, and geophysicists is presented, and best-fit equations have been provided for some of the displayed ata so that interpolations can be made easily.

Synthesis of high-coercivity cobalt ferrite particles using water-in-oil microemulsions
V. Pillai,Dinesh O. Shah +1 more
TL;DR: Magnetic nanoparticles of cobalt ferrite (CoFe204) have been synthesized using water-in-oil microemulsions consisting of water, cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (surfactant), n-butanol (cosurfactant) and n-octane (oil) as mentioned in this paper.

Size-induced structural phase transitions and hyperfine properties of microcrystalline Fe2O3
TL;DR: In this article, a succession of crystal-size-induced structural transitions was observed, which were related to the increase in the unit-cell volume that occurs as the particle size is decreased.

Anisotropic Superexchange Interaction and Weak Ferromagnetism
TL;DR: In this paper, the Anderson theory of superexchange was extended to include spin-orbit coupling and the antisymmetric spin coupling suggested by Dzialoshinski from purely symmetry grounds and the symmetric pseudodipolar interaction were derived.

A thermodynamic theory of “weak” ferromagnetism of antiferromagnetics
TL;DR: In this paper, a thermodynamic theory of weak ferromagnetism of α-Fe 2 O 3, MnCO 3 and CoCO 3 is developed on the basis of landau's theory of phase transitions of the second kind.

Some Properties of Supported Small α − Fe 2 O 3 Particles Determined with the Mössbauer Effect
TL;DR: In this paper, the Mossbauer spectra of a sample with an arbitrary number of particles was analyzed and the particle size distribution of the quadrupole splitting was determined as a function of particle size and temperature, and an independent value of the crystalline anisotropy constant in the $c$ plane was derived.
