CHEM21 selection guide of classical- and less classical-solvents
Denis Prat,Andy Wells,John D. Hayler,Helen F. Sneddon,C. Robert McElroy,Sarah Abou-Shehada,Peter J. Dunn +6 more
TL;DR: A selection guide of common solvents has been elaborated, based on a survey of publically available solvent selection guides, and a set of Safety, Health and Environment criteria is proposed, aligned with the GHS and European regulations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rotating Night Shifts and Risk of Breast Cancer in Women Participating in the Nurses' Health Study
Eva S. Schernhammer,Francine Laden,Frank E. Speizer,Walter C. Willett,David J. Hunter,Ichiro Kawachi,Graham A. Colditz +6 more
TL;DR: Women who work on rotating night shifts with at least three nights per month, in addition to days and evenings in that month, appear to have a moderately increased risk of breast cancer after extended periods of working rotating night shift.
Journal ArticleDOI
The UCSC Genome Browser database: extensions and updates 2013.
Laurence R. Meyer,Ann S. Zweig,Angie S. Hinrichs,Donna Karolchik,Robert M. Kuhn,Matthew C. Wong,Cricket A. Sloan,Kate R. Rosenbloom,Greg Roe,Brooke Rhead,Brian J. Raney,Andy Pohl,Venkat S. Fujita,Timothy R. Dreszer,Mark Diekhans,Melissa S. Cline,Hiram Clawson,Galt P. Barber,David Haussler,W. James Kent +31 more
TL;DR: The UCSC Genome Browser database is provided, which has been previously featured in the Database issue of this journal, and several features to improve usability are introduced, including new navigation menus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Imputation of sequence variants for identification of genetic risks for Parkinson's disease: a meta-analysis of genome-wide association studies.
Mike A. Nalls,Vincent Plagnol,Dena G. Hernandez,Manu Sharma,Una-Marie Sheerin,Mohamad Saad,J Simón-Sánchez,Claudia Schulte,Suzanne Lesage,Suzanne Lesage,Sigurlaug Sveinbjörnsdóttir,K. Stefansson,Maria Martinez,Maria Martinez,John Hardy,Peter Heutink,Alexis Brice,Thomas Gasser,Andrew B. Singleton,Nicholas W. Wood +19 more
TL;DR: These data provide an insight into the genetics of Parkinson's disease and the molecular cause of the disease and could provide future targets for therapies.
Journal ArticleDOI
RNA polymerase is poised for activation across the genome
Ginger W. Muse,Daniel A. Gilchrist,Sergei Nechaev,Ruchir R. Shah,Joel S. Parker,Sherry F. Grissom,Julia Zeitlinger,Julia Zeitlinger,Karen Adelman +8 more
TL;DR: The data show that stalling is widespread, occurring at hundreds of genes that respond to stimuli and developmental signals, and indicates a role for regulation of polymerase elongation in the transcriptional responses to dynamic environmental and developmental cues.
