Journal ArticleDOI

Trace level determination of molybdenum in environmental and biological samples using surfactant-mediated liquid-liquid extraction.

TL;DR: The proposed novel and sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of molybdenum at trace levels in environmental and biological samples has been successfully applied and most of the metal ions tested did not interfere in the determination.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spectrophotometric determination of molybdenum and tungsten in niobium with dithiol

TL;DR: In this article, a new procedure for the determination of molybdenum and tungsten in niobium has been developed, which involves the formation of the intensely colored complex of MDE with toluene-3,4-dithiol in an aqueous medium and its extraction into carbon tetrachloride followed by the reduction of Tungsten and the formation and extraction of its complex.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spectrophotometric determination of trace molybdenum in plants and seeds with 3,5-dibromo-4-hydroxyphenylflurone.

TL;DR: 3,5-Dibromo-4-hydroxyphenylflurone showed outstanding analytical characteristics for spectrophotometric determination of molybdenum, and has very high sensitivity and selectivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spectrophotometric determination of iron as phenylfluorone complex sensitized with Triton X-100

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of surfactants and protective colloids on the absorbance of the iron-phenylfluorone complex has been investigated, and the results showed that the sensitivity of the sensitized complex reached 7.5×104 l · mol−1 · cm−1 at 530 nm.

Congenital Heart Disease.—I

Paul Wood
- 16 Sep 1950 -
TL;DR: The size of the pulmonary arteries, measured intraoperatively, was correlated with operative mortality in 90 patients who underwent the Fontan operation and data was presented suggesting that if the combined cross-sectional area of the right and left pulmonary arteries as determined from the angiocardiogram was less than 250 mm2/m2, theFontan operation should not be done.
