Evaluation of Radiation Shielding Features of Co and Ni-Based Superalloys Using MCNP-5 Code: Potential Use in Nuclear Safety
M.I. Sayyed,Faras Q. Mohammed,K.A. Mahmoud,E. Lacomme,Kawa M. Kaky,Mayeen Uddin Khandaker,Mohammad Rashed Iqbal Faruque +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the Monte Carlo simulation (MCNP-5) code was performed to estimate the mean track length of the incident photons inside six different alloys and other important γ-ray shielding parameters were calculated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microstructural and Wear Characteristics of High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) Sprayed NiCrBSi–SiC Composite Coating on SAE 1030 Steel
TL;DR: In this article, wear properties of NiCrBSi-SiC coatings were investigated using the ball-on-disk wear test using the SAE 1030 steel substrate.
Journal ArticleDOI
Strategy of incorporating Ni-based braze alloy in cold sprayed Inconel 718 coating
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of post heat treatment on microstructural evolution and chemical diffusion of the composite coatings were systematically investigated using scanning electron microscopy, electron backscatter diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and nanoindentation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Uncertainty analysis of microsegregation during laser powder bed fusion
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify the uncertainty sources and frequency densities of the quantity of interest in the solidification regime relevant to additive manufacturing and use correlation, regression, and surrogate model analyses to quantify the contribution of different sources of uncertainty to the QoI variability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Laser engineered net shaping of WC-9.2wt%Ni alloys: A feasibility study
TL;DR: In this article, a design of experiment matrix was successfully applied to the LENS® technology to produce a series of WC-9.2wt%Ni (Monel) thin walls and cubes, which were characterized using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, electron probe micro-analysis, Vickers hardness, X-ray diffraction and porosity.

High temperature oxidation of NiCrAlY coated Alloy 625 manufactured by selective laser melting
Damien Texier,Etienne Copin,Augustin Flores,Jiwon Lee,Jiwon Lee,Mathieu Terner,Hyun-Uk Hong,Philippe Lours +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the high temperature oxidation of fully SLM-processed NiCrAlY coated Alloy 625 parts was investigated between 800°C and 1000°C, and the results showed that the NiCAlY coating results in regions with a dense and continuous external Al2O3 layer and regions composed of a mixture of external Cr 2O3 and internal AlO3.
