Non-conservative stability of multi-step non-uniform columns

TLDR
In this paper, the stability of non-uniform columns under the combined action of concentrated and variably distributed forces is solved analytically, and a new exact approach, which combines the exact solutions of one-step columns and the transfer matrix method, is presented for the non-conservative stability analysis of multi-step noniform columns.

Stability of non-uniform columns under the combined action of concentrated follower forces and variably distributed loads

TL;DR: An exact approach for stability analysis of a non-uniform column subjected to concentrated tangential follower (non-conservative) forces and variably distributed (conservative) loads along the column is proposed in this article.

Effect of shear deformation on the critical buckling of multi-step bars

TL;DR: In this article, the buckling of a one-step bar with the effect of shear deformation is established and its exact solution is obtained, which is then used to derive the eigenvalue equation of a multistage bar.

Energy method in efficient estimation of elastic buckling critical load of axially loaded three-segment stepped column

TL;DR: In this article, the elastic stability of a three-segment stepped column that is subjected to axial concentrated compressive forces using the strain energy method has been investigated and the results of analytical model are compared with numerical results obtained from finite element method.

Exact solutions for free longitudinal vibrations of non-uniform rods

TL;DR: In this article, an exact approach for free longitudinal vibrations of one-step non-uniform rods with classical and non-classical boundary conditions is presented, and the fundamental solutions that satisfy the normalization conditions are derived and used to establish the frequency equations for 1-step rods.
