Novel distannoxane-catalyzed transesterification and a new entry to α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acids

TLDR
In this paper, a distannoxane-catalyzed transesterification reaction has been developed which affords various types of esters under very mild conditions and is applied to the stereo and regioselective synthesis of trisubstituted α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids.

A mild and efficient method for esterification and transesterification catalyzed by iodine

TL;DR: Iodine was found to be a practical and useful Lewis acid catalyst for the esterification of carboxylic acids with alcohols as mentioned in this paper, and it can be used for the transesterification of esters by different alcohols including tertiary alcohols and sterically hindered primary and secondary alcohols.
