TLDR
Ni-Cr-Si-B alloy deposition on 304 ASS is executed by making use of automated processes like PTA, laser cladding, etc., which are supportive in the mass production as discussed by the authors.

Cavitation erosion/corrosion synergy and wear behaviors of nickel-based alloy coatings on 304 stainless steel prepared by cold metal transfer

TL;DR: In this paper , Inconel 625 and Hastelloy C-276 nickel-based alloy coatings were prepared on 304 stainless steels by cold metal transfer (CMT), aiming at improving the resistance to corrosion, cavitation erosion and wear.

Investigation on the columnar-to-equiaxed transition and corrosion behavior in multi-track Stellite-6 coating fabricated by laser cladding

TL;DR: In this paper , a multi-track Stellite-6 coating was successfully fabricated on 42CrMo steel by laser cladding technology, and the results showed that, in the overlap zone, the ratio of temperature gradient and solidification rate of the melted pool was relatively low, which promoted the columnar-to-equiaxed transition (CET) behavior ahead of the single-track cladding.

On the performance of metallurgical behaviour of Stellite 6 cladding deposited on SS316L substrate with PTAW process

TL;DR: In this article , two samples with different weld parameters (sample A and B) have been considered in order to investigate the metallurgical variation at the interface, and the formation of different phases shows the W6C, interdendritic eutectic phases Cr7C3, Cr23C6 and primary dendritic phases γ-Co, ϵ-Co and CrCo that are chiefly responsible for the higher hardness of sample B which has lower heat input.

High cycle fatigue behaviour of Inconel 625 weld overlay on AISI 316L plate

TL;DR: In this article, the microstructure of the weld overlay was characterized with equiaxed, columnar and randomly oriented dendritic microstructures, these dendrites imparts improved mechanical properties.

High temperature behaviour of plasma transferred arc and laser Co-based alloy coatings

TL;DR: In this article, the performance of hardfaced material was evaluated by microstructure, chemical analysis and microhardness measurements, and results showed that for operating conditions that do not require elevated temperature, laser hardfacing shows the best results, due to the refine solidification structure produced.

Laser cladding of nickel-based hardfacing alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of powder feed rate (PFR) and translation speed (TS) of a laser beam were investigated on laser cladding with three nickel-based hardfacing alloys: Colmonoy 6, colmonoy 88 and AI-1236.

Cladding of Ni–Cr–B–Si coatings with a high power diode laser

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the process for obtaining two boride-containing nickel-based hardfacing alloy coatings, primarily composed of Ni-Cr-B-Si on carbon steel using a high power diode laser (HPDL).

Dilution effects in laser cladding of Ni–Cr–B–Si–C hardfacing alloys

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of additional iron (Fe) as a result of dilution from the steel substrate were investigated and it was found that for Fe contents of up to around 25 wt, chromium borides with higher Fe fractions could form but further increase of the Fe content to over 40 wt% entirely suppressed the precipitation of primary Cr borsides.
