Optimization of Medium Components for Production of Cellulases by Melanocarpus sp. MTCC 3922 under Solid-state Fermentation
TLDR
The medium components for the production of extracellular cellulases by Melanocarpus sp.Abstract:
The medium components for the production of extracellular cellulases by Melanocarpus sp MTCC 3922 were optimized using solid-state fermentation Melanocarpus sp cultured in optimized medium containing 15% urea, and 012% KH2PO4 along with a trace element solution and surfactant (Tween 20), produced endoglucanase (1424 U/g of substrate), Avicel-adsorbable endoglucanase (270 U/g of substrate), Avicelase (065 U/ g of substrate), FPase (399 U/g of substrate) and β-glucosidase (1090 U/g of substrate) activities The presence of sulphate ions in traces stimulated endoglucanase yields The IEF fractionation of the crude proteins from Melanocarpus sp showed the expression of 3, 1 and 11 isoforms of endoglucanase, β-glucosidase and xylanase, respectivelyread more

Purification and characterization of two endoglucanases from Melanocarpus sp. MTCC 3922.
TL;DR: EG I showed affinity for Avicel indicating the presence of cellulose binding domains (CBD) whereas, EG II was found to lack CBD, and both the endoglucanases showed higher activity against barley-beta-glucan as compared to CMC.

Purification and characterization of ß-glucosidase from Melanocarpus sp. MTCC 3922
TL;DR: β-glucosidase activity was enhanced appreciably in the presence of alcohols and putative transglycosylation activity that was positively catalyzed in presence of methanol as an acceptor molecule was shown.

Cellulases from penicillium janthinellum mutants: solid-state production and their stability in ionic liquids
TL;DR: Study of cellulase production by P. janthinellum mutants on lignocellulosic material such as cellulose or steam exploded bagasse (SEB) in combination with wheat bran revealed that there is no need of regenerating cellulose after ionic liquid treatment, since cellulase of mutant strain was found to be significantly stable in the ionicLiquid.

Thermophilic Fungi: Their Physiology and Enzymes
TL;DR: This review, for the first time, compiles information on the physiology and enzymes of thermophilic fungi and indicates that eukaryotic thermophily involves several mechanisms of stabilization of enzymes or optimization of their activity, with different mechanisms operating for different enzymes.
