Experimental investigations on the scrubbing of particulates (fly ash) in high-velocity water sprays are reported. Performance characteristics of an atmospheric spray scrubber incorporating high-velocity water sprays using a two-phase atomiser are analysed in terms of various physical and flow parameters of the system, and a simplified correlation has been developed. The efficiency of particulate collection in the scrubber can be well predicted using this correlation.read more

Fly-Ash Scrubbing in a Tapered Bubble Column Scrubber
A. Bandyopadhyay,M.N. Biswas +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a tapered bubble column scrubber was used to remove fly-ash in a wet scrubber using water and experiments were carried out for studying the behavior of the system in terms of various pertinent variables.

Fly ash scrubbing in a novel dual flow scrubber.
TL;DR: Comparison of the performance of the present system with the existing systems indicated that the bubble and spray sections either alone or in combination (as in a dual flow scrubber), was energy and efficiency-wise much better than theexisting systems.
