TLDR
In this paper, chemical analyses for Na, K, and trace elements of muscovite and potassium feldspar of granitic rocks are given for equilibrium and the distribution of trace elements in coexisting minerals suggests that equilibrium was attained and that muscoveite is a primary mineral.

Extreme fractionation in rare-element granitic pegmatites; selected examples of data and mechanisms

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that a granitic pegmatite can be interpreted as crystallochemically conditioned Li-and-C-based feldspathoids, crystallizing along with (and after) the last generations of primary K- and Nalfeldspars.

Mica Crystal Chemistry and the Influence of Pressure, Temperature, and Solid Solution on Atomistic Models

TL;DR: The 2:1 mica layer is composed of two opposing tetrahedral (T) sheets with an octahedral (M) sheet between to form a TMT layer as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Distribution of ammonium in minerals of metamorphic and granitic rocks

TL;DR: In this paper, sixtynine analyses were given for NH4 in minerals of metamorphic and granitic rocks mostly from the Ryoke belt, Japan, and the distribution of NH4 was quite systematic, suggesting that NH4 is one of the stable geochemical components in high temperature processes.

Geochemistry of the Sweetwater Wash Pluton, California: Implications for “anomalous” trace element behavior during differentiation of felsic magmas

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the light rare-earth elements (LREE) in major mineral species predict that these elements should behave incompatibly during crystallization and increase with fractionation.

Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry: A new technique for the determination of trace and ultra-trace elements in silicates

TL;DR: In this paper, a laser ablation system coupled to an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (LA-ICP-MS) for the direct analysis of solid geological materials is described.

Petrogenesis of metamorphic rocks

TL;DR: In this paper, the four divisions of metamorphic grade are defined: very low grade, medium grade, high grade and low grade metamorphism, and the change from low grade to medium grade to high grade.

Trace element partition coefficients—a review of theory and applications to geology

TL;DR: In this article, the thermodynamics of trace element partition among coexisting phases is reviewed and the effect of temperature, pressure and phase composition on the numerical value of D is discussed.
