Raman spectroscopy of (K,Na)NbO3 and (K,Na)1−xLixNbO3

TL;DR: In this paper, the phase transitions in Li-free crystal are homogeneous and hysteretic, with no mixed-phase region between the rhombohedral and orthorhombic phases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anomalous mode coupling and phase transition of KNbO3 under high pressure

TL;DR: In this paper, the Raman spectra of KNbO 3 under high pressure have been analyzed on the basis of the two-mode coupling model, and it has been found that the phase transitions from orthorhombic to tetragonal and from Tetragonal to cubic occur at 7 and 8 GPa, respectively, accompanied by an abrupt jump of the mode width of one mode.

Phase transitions and optical characterization of lead-free piezoelectric (K0.5Na0.5)0.96Li0.04(Nb0.8Ta0.2)O3 thin films

TL;DR: In this article, the phase transition of lead-free piezoelectric thin films was studied by Raman spectroscopy, and two distinct anomalies originating from the cubic-to-tetragonal (TC-T) and tetragonal-toorthorhombic (TT-O) phase transitions were observed.

Preparation and Transport Properties of New Oxide Ion Conductors KNb1-xMgxO3-δ by High Temperature and Pressure

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of oxide ion conductors (KNb_(1-x)Mg_xO_(3-δ) (x = 0.05−0.30) were prepared at a temperature of 870 °C and a pressure of 4.0 GPa.

Crystal stability and the theory of ferroelectricity

W. Cochran
- 01 Oct 1960 -
TL;DR: In this article, it is shown that the parameters which determine the lattice vibrations of a diatomic ionic crystal may be chosen in such a way that the crystal will exhibit ferroelectric properties, and that anti-ferroelectric transitions may be regarded as the result of an instability of the crystal for a certain normal mode of vibration.

Temperature dependence of the Raman cross section and light absorption in cubic BaTiO3

TL;DR: In this article, the temperature dependence of the Raman spectrum in the cubic phase of BaTiO 3 is described, and the cross section decreases when the temperature increases, which is contrary to a normal second order effect behaviour.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anomalous scattering and asymmetrical line shapes in Raman spectra of orthorhombic KNb O 3

TL;DR: In this article, the anomalous spectrum of the orthorhombic KNb${\mathrm{O}}_{3}$ is found to contain anomalous scattering, consisting of a large background and broad bands, which can be related directly to the dynamic disorder which has been invoked to explain the results of earlier studies of diffuse x-ray scattering and inelastic neutron scattering.

Precursor order and Raman scattering near displacive phase transitions

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported detailed experimental studies of the onset of hardmode Raman activity near the cubic-tetragonal structural phase transitions in KMnF3 and RbCaF3.

Optical modes and dielectric properties of ferroelectric orthorhombic KNbO 3

TL;DR: In this article, the opticmode spectrum of orthorhombic KNbO at room temperature was determined by using Raman scattering and infrared reflectivity measurements, and the spectral anisotropic properties of the optic modes were determined.
