TLDR
In this paper, a comprehensive account of statistical linearization with related techniques allowing the solution of a very wide variety of practical non-linear random vibration problems is given, and the principal value of these methods is that they are readily generalized to deal with complex mechanical and structural systems and complex types of excitation such as earthquakes.
Abstract
Interest in the study of random vibration problems using the concepts of stochastic process theory has grown rapidly due to the need to design structures and machinery which can operate reliably when subjected to random loads, for example winds and earthquakes. This is the first comprehensive account of statistical linearization - powerful and versatile methods with related techniques allowing the solution of a very wide variety of practical non-linear random vibration problems. The principal value of these methods is that unlike other analytical methods, they are readily generalized to deal with complex mechanical and structural systems and complex types of excitation such as earthquakes.

Synthetic metocean time series generation for offshore operability and design based on multivariate Markov model

TL;DR: In the present paper, a first order multivariate Markov chain model is developed and is demonstrated to be effective to generate synthetic time series with the same statistical properties of the original one.

Response of a multi-degree-of-freedom system with a pounding vibration neutralizer to harmonic and random excitation

TL;DR: An extensive investigation is provided for assessing the influence and interaction effects of the major nonlinear system parameters, so as to provide useful guidelines for quantifying the tradeoffs in selecting a suitable strategy to enhance the mitigation capabilities of the subject class of dampers, under stationary as well as nonstationary deterministic and random dynamic environments.

A weighted dual criterion of the equivalent linearization method for nonlinear systems subjected to random excitation

TL;DR: In this article, a weighted form of the dual mean square error criterion was proposed by considering weighted contributions of forward and return replacements adjusted by a specific non-dimensional weight coefficient, and the simplicity and accuracy of the proposed weighted dual equivalent linearization technique are checked on several random vibration systems in comparison with other criteria.

Quasilinear Control Theory for Systems with Asymmetric Actuators and Sensors.

TL;DR: In this paper, an extension of the QLC theory to the asymmetric case is presented, which is based on the method of stochastic linearization, which replaces nonlinear systems by quasilinear ones.
