TLDR
In this paper, the adsorption of oxygen molecules on evaporated gallium films has been studied by UV photoelectron spectroscopy between 10 and 300 K. This is concluded from the valence band UP spectra, the chemical shift of the Ga 3d level, and the work function change.

Oxygen adsorption on silver (110): Dispersion, bonding and precursor state

TL;DR: In this article, the adsorption geometry and symmetry of the oxygen-induced levels for the chemisorbed dioxygen species were also investigated with the selection rules, and the adsorbate-induced feature of lowest ionisation potential at 1.1 eV relative to E F is 1 π g -derived.

Chemisorption of oxygen on aluminum surfaces

TL;DR: A critical review of the oxygen-aluminum system is presented in this paper, where the primary emphasis concerns the electronic properties of aluminum surfaces exposed to oxygen and the chemisorption and oxidation aspects are considered.
