Journal ArticleDOI

Responses to visual stimuli of units in the superior colliculus of rats and monkeys

TL;DR: It is argued that the present results together with those of other single unit studies point to a role for the mammalian colliculus in the detection and location of “evocative” visual stimuli, perhaps as part of a visual attention mechanism.
Book ChapterDOI

Neuronal Mechanisms of Visual Movement Perception and Some Psychophysical and Behavioral Correlations

TL;DR: Visual movement perception has to be considered a special perceptual quality of the visual modality as color, brightness, size etc. are sensory qualities for the perception of thevisual world.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optics and Visual Physiology

TL;DR: Only the area of visual physiology will be covered and the general outline of topics to be discussed will be the same as last year and is as follows: Electrophysiology Early receptor potential Electroretinography and electrooculography Visually evoked response Visual physiology Retina and optic nerve Higher visual pathways.
