Regional Net Impacts and Social Distribution Effects of Promoting Renewable Energies in Germany

TLDR
In this article, the authors investigated the effect of renewable energy sources on value added and disposable income in Germany and their distribution among regions and income brackets. And they found that the generation of electricity from renewable sources itself leads to small positive impacts on industries, but leads to a significant drain on household income and has regressive distributive effects.

The German feed-in tariff revisited - an empirical investigation on its distributional effects

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate how the benefits and burdens of this subsidization scheme are distributed, using micro-data from SOEP for private households during the period of 2010-2017, and they employ three different inequality metrics (Gini coefficient, the Theil index and the Atkinson index).

Assessing the Impact of Changes in Petroleum Prices on Inflation and Household Expenditures in Australia

TL;DR: In this paper, the expected impact of a twofold rise in petrol prices on sectoral prices and household expenditures in Australia using 1996-97 and 1977-78 input-output tables was analyzed.

What are the social outcomes of climate policies? A systematic map and review of the ex-post literature

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examine the diverse social outcomes that have resulted from climate policies, in varying contexts worldwide, over the past few decades, and find that climate and energy policies often fall short of delivering positive social outcomes.

Research on influencing factors of renewable energy, energy efficiency, on technological innovation. Does trade, investment and human capital development matter?

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of renewable energy and energy efficiency on technological innovation using panel data from 1995 to 2017 and employing the instrumental variable fixed effect technique were investigated. And the results indicated that renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainability appear to have accelerated worldwide in response to the need for alternate energy sources against conventional fossil-based sources.

Comparison of feed-in tariff, quota and auction mechanisms to support wind power development

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison of support schemes for market-based deployment of renewable energy in the UK and Germany shows that the feed-in tariff reduces costs to consumers and results in larger deployment.

Economic impacts from the promotion of renewable energy technologies: The German experience

TL;DR: In this article, the authors argue that German renewable energy policy, and in particular the adopted feed-in tariff scheme, has failed to harness the market incentives needed to ensure a viable and cost-effective introduction of renewable energies into the country's energy portfolio.

Design of an economically efficient feed-in tariff structure for renewable energy development

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed an innovative two-part FIT, consisting of both a capacity payment and a market-based energy payment, which can be used to meet the renewables policy goals of regulators.
