Reliability and Validity of Persian Version of Performance-oriented Mobility Assessment (POMA) in Community-dwelling Iranian Older Adults: Psychometric Properties

TLDR
This paper presents a meta-modelling system that automates the very labor-intensive and therefore time-heavy and expensive and expensive process of manually cataloging and cataloging individual pieces of data.

A comparison of distance perception in active and inactive elderly with an emphasis on physical activity

TL;DR: Findings from the present study confirmed superiority of active lifestyle in terms of physical activity and show that physical activity increases the confidence in elderly to take longer steps and walk a distance in shorter time.
Journal Article

Validity and Reliability of Persian Version of Dynamic Gait Index in Older Men

TL;DR: Abdiani et al. as mentioned in this paper presented an MSc. in Physical Educa on and Sport Sciences and Assistant Professor in Motor Behavior at Arak University, Arak, Iran.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detecting Differences in Gait Initiation between Older Adult Fallers and Non-Fallers Through Time-Series Principal Component Analysis (PCA)

TL;DR: In this paper , the kinematics and kinetics of gait initiation using time-series principal component analysis (PCA) were used to identify the critical features of the signal, and multivariate analysis of covariance was used to compare the individual loading scores of each principal component.

Comparative fit indexes in structural models

TL;DR: A new coefficient is proposed to summarize the relative reduction in the noncentrality parameters of two nested models and two estimators of the coefficient yield new normed (CFI) and nonnormed (FI) fit indexes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluating the use of exploratory factor analysis in psychological research.

TL;DR: This paper reviewed the major design and analytical decisions that must be made when conducting exploratory factor analysis and notes that each of these decisions has important consequences for the obtained results, and the implications of these practices for psychological research are discussed.

Performance-oriented assessment of mobility problems in elderly patients

TL;DR: A practical performance-oriented assessment of mobility is described that incorporates useful features of both approaches and the recommended evaluation centers on the more effective use of readily (and frequently) obtained clinical data.

Evaluation of goodness-of-fit indices for structural equation models

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluate the use of goodness-of-fit indices for the assessment of the fit of structural equation models to data and assess their strengths and weaknesses, and discuss less biased estimates of goodness of fit and a relative normedfit index for testing fit of a structural model exclusive of the measurement model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessing the reliability and validity of a shorter walk test compared with the 10-Meter Walk Test for measurements of gait speed in healthy, older adults.

TL;DR: The 4-Meter Walk Test does not exhibit a high enough degree of concurrent validity with the 10-Meters Walk Test to be used interchangeably for gait speed assessments in healthy, older adults, and is recommended to obtain the most valid clinical assessment of walking speed when using it as a 1-time indicator of health status.
