TLDR
In this article, a retention index scale based on the relative retention of a homologous series of C 3  C 23 2-keto alkanes was used to characterize the chromatographic properties of several drugs with four basic reversed-phase systems each using several mobile phase compositions.

Determination of hydrophobic parameters by reversed-phase liquid chromatography: theory, experimental techniques, and application in studies on quantitative structure-activity relationships

TL;DR: It is suggested that retention parameters, in particular the capacity factor obtained by extrapolation of retention data from binary eluents to 100% water, could successfully replace the n-octanol-water partition coefficient in studies on quantitative structure-activity relationship, and that their use may result in a better correlation with biological data.

Advances in structure elucidation of small molecules using mass spectrometry

TL;DR: This review covers different soft and hard ionization techniques and figures of merit for modern mass spectrometers, such as mass resolving power, mass accuracy, isotopic abundance accuracy, accurate mass multiple-stage MS(n) capability, as well as hybridmass spectrometric and orthogonal chromatographic approaches.

Reversed-phase liquid chromatography of homologous series : A general method for prediction of retention

TL;DR: The model of interaction indices is used as the basis for the derivation of equations describing the retention of homologous series in reversed-phase liquid chromatography as mentioned in this paper, and linear relationships between the retention and the mobile phase composition can be used to a first approximation in binary mobile phases containing 40-50% or more ofmethanol, acetonitrile or 1,4-dioxane in water.

Alkylarylketones as a retention index scale in liquid chromatography

TL;DR: In this article, a retention index scale based on the relative retentions of the alkylarylketones (PhCOr) has been evaluated for reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography.

Gas‐chromatographische Charakterisierung organischer Verbindungen. Teil 1: Retentionsindices aliphatischer Halogenide, Alkohole, Aldehyde und Ketone

TL;DR: In this article, a simple relation exists between the retention index of a compound on a non-polar stationary phase and its boiling point, which is defined as the ratio of the boiling point of the compound to its retention index.

Classification of the solvent properties of common liquids

TL;DR: In this article, Rohrschneider's solubility data reported by 82 solvents and several test solutes have been transformed into a corresponding set of solvent characterization parameters: P ′, x c, x d and x n values.

Structural and isotopic effects in hydrophobic binding measured by high-pressure liquid chromatography, a stable and highly precise model for hydrophobic interactions in biomembranes

TL;DR: It is possible to do accurate liquid-liquid chromatography experiments with hydrophobic columns coated with stearic acid, suggesting the possibility of experiments with other substances, including lipids, and isotopic separation of deuterated and protiated palmitic acid and other molecules is shown.
