Partial directed coherence: a new concept in neural structure determination

TL;DR: A new frequency-domain approach to describe the relationships (direction of information flow) between multivariate time series based on the decomposition of multivariate partial coherences computed from multivariate autoregressive models is introduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tailoring Single-Atom Platinum for Selective and Stable Catalysts in Propane Dehydrogenation.

TL;DR: A review of single-atom-like Pt sites for PDH is presented in this paper , where three different distinct types of state-of-the-art single atom-like catalysts are discussed.

Facile microfabrication of three dimensional-patterned micromixers using additive manufacturing technology

Doheon Koo, +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the manufacturing method of oblique patterns in micro-channels and the effect of these patterns on mixing performance in microchannels, and the analysis showed that the mixing channel cast from the mold printed with a printing angle of 30° and resolution of 300 μm exhibited the best mixing efficiency with a segregation index of approximately 0.05 at a Reynolds number of 5.4.
Journal ArticleDOI

Playing with process conditions to increase the industrial sustainability of poly(lactic acid)-based materials

TL;DR: The use of polylactic acid (PLA) is an important polymer for the replacement of oil-based polymers in the biomedical field as well as for degradable single use polymeric materials as mentioned in this paper .
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular modelling of the thermophysical properties of fluids: expectations, limitations, gaps and opportunities.

TL;DR: An overview of the current state of the art in terms of the molecular modelling of the thermophysical properties of fluids is provided in this paper , where case studies which showcase both the precision and the limitations of frequently used workflows.

Measuring information transfer.

TL;DR: An information theoretic measure is derived that quantifies the statistical coherence between systems evolving in time and is able to distinguish effectively driving and responding elements and to detect asymmetry in the interaction of subsystems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measuring and testing dependence by correlation of distances

TL;DR: Distance correlation is a new measure of dependence between random vectors that is based on certain Euclidean distances between sample elements rather than sample moments, yet has a compact representation analogous to the classical covariance and correlation.

Partial directed coherence: a new concept in neural structure determination

TL;DR: In this paper, a frequency-domain approach to describe the relationships between multivariate time series based on the decomposition of multivariate partial coherences computed from multivariate autoregressive models is introduced.

Transfer entropy--a model-free measure of effective connectivity for the neurosciences

TL;DR: Transfer entropy (TE) improved the detectability of effective connectivity for non-linear interactions, and for sensor level MEG signals where linear methods are hampered by signal-cross-talk due to volume conduction.

Causality detection based on information-theoretic approaches in time series analysis

TL;DR: The aim of this paper is to provide a detailed overview of information theoretic approaches for measuring causal influence in multivariate time series and to focus on diverse approaches to the entropy and mutual information estimation.
