Partial directed coherence: a new concept in neural structure determination
Koichi Sameshima,Luiz A. Baccalá +1 more
TL;DR: A new frequency-domain approach to describe the relationships (direction of information flow) between multivariate time series based on the decomposition of multivariate partial coherences computed from multivariate autoregressive models is introduced.

Tailoring Single-Atom Platinum for Selective and Stable Catalysts in Propane Dehydrogenation.
Yukiko Nakaya,Shinya Furukawa +1 more
TL;DR: A review of single-atom-like Pt sites for PDH is presented in this paper , where three different distinct types of state-of-the-art single atom-like catalysts are discussed.

Facile microfabrication of three dimensional-patterned micromixers using additive manufacturing technology
Doheon Koo,Hongyun So +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the manufacturing method of oblique patterns in micro-channels and the effect of these patterns on mixing performance in microchannels, and the analysis showed that the mixing channel cast from the mold printed with a printing angle of 30° and resolution of 300 μm exhibited the best mixing efficiency with a segregation index of approximately 0.05 at a Reynolds number of 5.4.

Measuring information transfer.
TL;DR: An information theoretic measure is derived that quantifies the statistical coherence between systems evolving in time and is able to distinguish effectively driving and responding elements and to detect asymmetry in the interaction of subsystems.

Measuring and testing dependence by correlation of distances
TL;DR: Distance correlation is a new measure of dependence between random vectors that is based on certain Euclidean distances between sample elements rather than sample moments, yet has a compact representation analogous to the classical covariance and correlation.

Transfer entropy--a model-free measure of effective connectivity for the neurosciences
TL;DR: Transfer entropy (TE) improved the detectability of effective connectivity for non-linear interactions, and for sensor level MEG signals where linear methods are hampered by signal-cross-talk due to volume conduction.
