Retroactive impairment of passive avoidance learning by stimulation of the caudate nucleus.

TLDR
Stimulation at a number of brain sites did not produce retrograde impairment of passive avoidance, and control electrode placements negated current spread, antidromic effects due to excitation of fibers of passage, and downstream peripheral effects mediated by internal capsular fibers as significant influences in the mediation of the retention deficits obtained.

Journal ArticleDOI

A triple dissociation of memory systems: hippocampus, amygdala, and dorsal striatum

TL;DR: The results of this study are consistent with the hypothesis that the mammalian brain may be capable of acquiring different kinds of information with different, more-or-less independent neural systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Differential effects of fornix and caudate nucleus lesions on two radial maze tasks: evidence for multiple memory systems.

TL;DR: A double dissociation of the mnemonic functions of the hippocampus and caudate nucleus is demonstrated, demonstrating the presence of 2 memory systems in the mammalian brain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiple parallel memory systems in the brain of the rat.

TL;DR: A theory of multiple parallel memory systems in the brain of the rat is described, which consists of a series of interconnected neural structures that can be cooperative or competitive, and experimental findings consistent with these ideas are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dissociation of hippocampus and caudate nucleus memory systems by posttraining intracerebral injection of dopamine agonists

TL;DR: The results demonstrate a double dissociation of hippocampus and caudate nucleus memory functions and show that posttraining injection of both D1 and D2 agonists modulate the memory processes subserved by both hippocampus and Caudates nucleus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neurochemical correlate of a spatial preference in rats.

TL;DR: Dopamine content was significantly higher in the striata contralateral to rats' side preferences than in the ipsilateral striata; there was no such difference for teldiencephalic norepinephrine.

Nonparametric statistics for the behavioral sciences

Sidney Siegel
TL;DR: This is the revision of the classic text in the field, adding two new chapters and thoroughly updating all others as discussed by the authors, and the original structure is retained, and the book continues to serve as a combined text/reference.
Journal ArticleDOI

Time-dependent processes in memory storage

TL;DR: The findings indicate that the long-lasting trace of an experience is not completely fixed, consolidated, or coded at the time of the experience, and that any search for the engram or the basis of memory is not going to be successful.
