TLDR
In this paper, a method is proposed for creating a whole field map which represents the spatial resolution of the isochromatic fringe pattern, which can be used to extract fringe data from thin slices cut from a stereo-lithographic model that has characteristic random noise due to layered manufacturing.

One-dimensional local binary pattern based color descriptor to classify stress values from photoelasticity videos

TL;DR: The one-dimensional local binary patterns (1D-LBP) are used to describe such color variations and use them to identify the stress values they belong and make categorical stress maps from a photoelasticity video itself, which significantly opens new opportunities to simplify the experimental and computational operations that limit the stress evaluation process in line with the dynamic experiment.

Experimental and simulation analyses of the stress field of slider-on-block contact for static and slip states

TL;DR: In this paper, the plane stress fields of slider-on-block contact in different contact states were observed by photoelasticity experiments and finite element simulation, and the distributions of pressure and frictional stress on the contact surface were determined; the influences of the load and friction coefficient on contact stress distributions were also investigated.

RGB photoelasticity applied to the analysis of membrane residual stress in glass

TL;DR: In this paper, the determination of membrane residual stresses in glass plates by automatic digital photoelasticity in white light (RGB photo elasticity) has been proposed, which can effectively replace manual methods based on white light, which are currently provided by some technical standards.
