Study on the Formation of Reaction Phase to Si Addition in Boron Steel Hot-Dipped in Al–7Ni Alloy

TL;DR: In this article, 2.6 wt % Si was added to the coating to change the reaction layer to reduce the intermetallic compounds formed during the application of an Al-7Ni wt% hot-dip multifunctional coating on boron steel, developed for Tailor Welded Blanks (TWB) and hot stamping.

Tool Concepts and Materials for Incremental Sheet Metal Forming with Direct Resistance Heating

TL;DR: In this article, the wear of different materials for tooltips and its dependence on lubrication has been investigated in forming experiments and thoroughly discussed in a new process setup, both studies concerning existing and new tool concepts and materials are presented.

Friction spinning – Twist phenomena and the capability of influencing them

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a tube forming process based on metal spinning and friction welding, where the selective combination of process elements from these two processes results in the integration of friction sub-processes in a spinning process.

Closed loop springback control in progressive die bending by induction heating

TL;DR: In this article, a closed loop control with a feedback of the angle after unloading is implemented, which adjusts the sheet temperature before bending, and finally a stable and fast control mode is achieved so that an initial deviation from the target value is reduced to less than Δθ = ± 0.30°.

Experimental investigation of non-isothermal deep drawing of DP600 steel

TL;DR: In this article, experiments were conducted on DP600, IF, and HSLA steels to increase the limiting drawing ratio (LDR) in deep drawing, and an intensive cooling by cold water was applied to the bottom side of a blank during deep drawing.

Computational Contact Mechanics

TL;DR: The mathematical structure of the contact formulation for finite element methods is derived on the basis of a continuum description of contact, and several algorithms related to spatial contact search and fulfillment of the inequality constraints at the contact interface are discussed.
