Sherwood's models for the falling-rate period: A missing link at moderate drying intensity

TLDR
In this paper, an exact model for the falling-rate period of drying of solids based on Sherwood's diffusion theory is presented, where an external evaporation-controlled constant rate period is followed by an internal diffusion-controlled falling rate period.

Modeling and simulation of heat and mass transfer during drying of solids with hemispherical shell geometry

TL;DR: A theoretical and numerical approach was used to develop a mass transfer analogy between the proposed HSG and a simpler flat slab-shaped product, which provides simple mathematical expressions for drying process simulation and estimation of diffusion coefficients in solids with the proposed geometry.

Drying of wolfberry fruit juice using low-intensity pulsed ultrasound

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of pulsed ultrasound ratio and drying temperature on the drying kinetics and quality parameters (color, total flavonoid, total polyphenol content, DPPH radical scavenging activity and powder properties) were investigated and compared with continuous ultrasound-assisted vacuum drying (CUVD).

Tape casting of lanthanum chromite for solid oxide fuel cell interconnects

TL;DR: In this article, a method based on tape-casting was developed for the manufacture of ceramic interconnects for SOFCs, and the development of an optimized process was shown with a discussion of the effects on the precursor-slurry quality and viscosity of, among other things, the concentrations of ammonia, binder and solid particles.

Modeling and Evaluation of Thermal Diffusivity and Activation Energy of Potato slices in Forced Convection Multi Tray Solar Dryer

TL;DR: In this paper, the modeling and analysis of thermal diffusivity and activation energy of high moisture potato slices in a multi-tray solar dryer with PCM (Lauric acid) was investigated.

Estimation Of Monod Kinetic Parameters During Aerobic Digestion Of Biodegradable Organic Waste, Part 2: Analysis Based On Microbial Growth With Effect Of Bioaugmentation

Y. T. Puyate, +1 more
TL;DR: Monod kinetic parameters based on microbial growth during aerobic digestion of biodegradable organic waste are estimated and maximum specific growth rates of microorganisms during biodegradation of the waste are calculated.

A mathematical model of drying for hygroscopic porous media

TL;DR: In this article, a mathematical model is developed to simulate the drying of hydgroscopic porous media and, in particular, of wood, and experiments are performed using wood specimens and a nonhygroscopy porous ceramic sold and were simulated using the appropriate version of the drying model.
