TLDR
In this article, the absolute radiometer on Spacelab 1 was used to obtain solar irradiance observations from space and a provisional value was obtained for the mean solar constant during the observation period (6 to 8 December 1983).
Abstract
The absolute radiometer on Spacelab 1 was used to obtain solar irradiance observations from space. A number of effects must be taken into account in the data reduction. A provisional value was obtained for the mean solar constant during the observation period (6 to 8 December 1983).

Reconstruction of total and spectral solar irradiance from 1974 to 2013 based on KPVT, SoHO/MDI, and SDO/HMI observations

TL;DR: In this paper, a reconstruction of the daily solar irradiance obtained using the SATIRE-S model spanning 1974 to 2013 based on full-disc observations from the KPVT, SoHO/MDI, and SDO/HMI was presented.

In-Flight Performance of the Virgo Solar Irradiance Instruments on Soho

TL;DR: In this article, the in-flight performance of the total and spectral irradiance instruments within VIRGO (Variability of solar IRradiance and Gravity Oscillations) on the ESA/NASA Mission SOHO (SOlar and Heliospheric observatory) is in most aspects better than expected.

Total solar irradiance observations from DIARAD/VIRGO

TL;DR: The Differential Absolute Radiometer (DIARAD) as discussed by the authors was used to measure the total solar irradiance as part of the Variability of Irradiance and Gravity Oscillations experiment on the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory.

Simultaneous measurement of the total solar irradiance and solar diameter by the PICARD mission

TL;DR: In this paper, a mission dedicated to simultaneous measurements of the solar diameter, spectral, and total solar irradiance is presently in development for launch end of the year 2008 on board of a microsatellite under the responsibility of Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales.

Initial solar irradiance determinations from nimbus 7 cavity radiometer measurements.

TL;DR: Preliminary results from solar radiation measurements from the earth radiation budget experiment on the Nimbus 7 satellite yield a mean value of 1376.0 watts per square meter for the "solar constant" from 16 November 1978 to 15 May 1979.

Solar irradiance variations and solar activity

TL;DR: In this paper, a mean value for the 1 AU total solar irradiance of 1368.2 W/sq m and a downward trend of 0.05% per year were derived from measurements by the Active Cavity Radiometer Irradiance Monitor (ACRIM) experiment on the Solar Maximum Mission during 1980.
