Synthesis and luminescence of lanthanide ions in nanoscale insulating hosts

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis and luminescence spectroscopy of lanthanide-containing nanostructured particles, films, and composites are summarized. But the focus of this review is on the synthesis of nanoparticles.

Chapter 235 Lanthanide Near-Infrared Luminescence in Molecular Probes and Devices

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe molecular, near infrared (NIR)-emitting compounds containing Nd III, Er III, or Yb III and discrete molecular edifices containing other ions emitting in this range.

PL, magneto‐PL and PLE of the trimetallic nitride template fullerene Er3N@C80

TL;DR: In this paper, a tunable 1.5 μm laser was used to directly observe non-cage-mediated optical interactions with the Er3+ ion and to map the energy level structure of the incarcerated ion and coherently control its quantum state.

PL, magneto-PL and PLE of the trimetallic nitride template fullerene Er3N@C-80

TL;DR: These qualities suggest that rare-earth endohedral fullerenes have characteristics that could be employed as a readout pathway for fullerene-based quantum information processing.

Theoretical and Quantitative Structural Relationship Study of the Electrochemical Properties of [M2@Cx]@[SWCNT(5,5)-Armchair-CnH20] (M = Er and Sc, x = 82 and 84, and n = 20−300) Complexes

TL;DR: In this article, the authors introduced an endohedral metallofullerenes (Mn@Cx) as a new class of spherical fullereners group with unique properties.

Lanthanum complexes of spheroidal carbon shells

TL;DR: In this article, it was found that the stability of the new species arises from its unique ability to close into a spheroidal, aromatic molecule in the form of a truncated icosahedron.

Luminescence and Absorption Spectra of C sub 60 Films

TL;DR: In this article, solid films of C60 deposited on CaF2 under ultra-high vacuum show luminescence in the 700-1100nm spectral range at 20K, and a 1400 cm-1 progression in the ag soccerball inflation mode is observed.
