Abstract
Summary form only given. We investigated the conditions under which conical or on-axis emission is observed in forward stimulated Raman scattering in H/sub 2/ gas and backward stimulated Brillouin scattering in liquid acetone. The conical emission of stimulated Raman Stokes light was observed for cone angles of the Bessel beam in the range from 0.7 to 3.5 mrad.

Tunable stimulated Raman scattering by pumping with Bessel beams.

TL;DR: Frequency tuning of SRS from polaritons in LiIO(3) by variation of the Bessel beam cone angle is demonstrated and the generation mechanism of the Stokes beam is identified as being due to noncollinear scattering of the component plane waves that constitute the Besse beam.

Properties of Bessel beams generated by periodic gratings of circular symmetry

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that the transmission of a periodic grating with circular symmetry can be composed of the sum of the transmissions of positive and negative axicons of different orders.

Efficient conical emission of stimulated Raman Stokes light generated by a Bessel pump beam.

TL;DR: High conversion efficiency into the first Stokes light of as much as 60% was achieved, indicating that the complete Bessel J(0) mode of the pump beam is involved in the stimulated scattering process.
