Journal ArticleDOI

Alaternin, cassiaside and rubrofusarin gentiobioside, radical scavenging principles from the seeds of Cassia tora on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical.

TL;DR: Radical scavenging principles of 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) radical were isolated from the seeds of Cassia tora L.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cassiae semen: A review of its phytochemistry and pharmacology (Review)

TL;DR: With the body of reported data, it has been suggested that Cassiae semen has convincing medicinal potential, however, the pharmacological mechanisms of the main bioactive compounds and the association between structure and activity require further investigation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Cassia obtusifolia (sicklepod) extracts and anthraquinones on muscle mitochondrial function

TL;DR: Relative quinone metabolism correlated with semiquinone formation rate and with redox potential and a protective effect of coenzyme Q against enzyme inhibition by anthraquinones was also observed.
Journal ArticleDOI

The NMR assignments of anthraquinones fromCassia tora

TL;DR: In this paper, the 1H- and 13C-NMR spectra of alaternin, aurantio-obtusin, chryso-obtsin and 2-glucosyl obtusifolin isolated from the seeds ofCassia tora have been assigned based on HMBC, long-range HETCOR, fully1H-coupled 13C NMR, deuterium isotope experiment, and by comparison with the model compounds.
