Study on fundamental soliton propagation and their interaction in Enhanced-Large Effective Area Fiber (E-LEAF)

TLDR
In this paper, the effect of soliton propagation due to interplay between Self-Phase Modulation (SPM) and Group Velocity Dispersion (GVD) is demonstrated in anomalous regime (β 2 0).
Abstract
In this werk, the effect of soliton propagation due to interplay between Self-Phase Modulation (SPM) and Group Velocity Dispersion (GVD) is demonstrated in anomalous regime (β 2 0). The telecommunication system of bitrate 10 and 40Gbps is implemented with Enhanced Large Effective Area Fiber (E-LEAF) as a data transmitting fiber. The combined effect of GVD and SPM is noted by matching the dispersion length (L D ) and non-linear length (L NL ,) with soliton period of 247.7206Km and 15.48Km for bitrate of 10Gbps and 40Gbps respectively. The interaction between two soliton propagating in phase to each other in same direction are found to be at 49108.59Km for 10Gbps system and 3069.15Km for 40Gbps system for the relative spacing (q„) of 529. It is seen that the collision can be avoided by increasing the soliton separation which is evident from 10 Gbps system, such that the collision length (L coII ) is much greater than transmission length (L T ).

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported narrowing and splitting of 7-ps-duration pulses from a mode-locked color-center laser by a 700m-long, singlemode silica-glass fiber, at a wavelength (1.55 \ensuremath{mu}m) of loss and large but negative group-velocity dispersion.

Stability and collisions of gap solitons in a model of a hollow optical fiber

TL;DR: Numerical investigation reveals that the entire bandgap is filled with solitons, and they are stable in direct simulations, and the gap-soliton (GS) family includes stable pulses moving relative to the given reference frame up to limit values of the corresponding boost delta, beyond which they do not exist.

Effects of Nonlinear Chirp on the Self-Phase Modulation of Ultrashort Optical Pulses

TL;DR: In this article, the dispersion due to the nonlinear optical process is expressed as functions of a linear and a nonlinear initial chirp, and it is found that the third-order dispersion strongly depends on the initial linear chirps and the non-linearity for self-phase modulation.
