Equilibrium studies in natural fluids: a chemical speciation model for the major constituents of sea water
TL;DR: In this paper, the speciation of CI−, OH− and SO42- in synthetic sea water has been studied by Potentiometric measurements (pH-metric and ISE-Na methods) and by literature data analysis, using a well tested complex formation model.

An improved specific interaction model for seawater at 25°C and 1 atmosphere total pressure
TL;DR: In this paper, Pitzer's original equations are modified to enable the calculation of conventional single-ion activity coefficients, which are compared with those obtained on the basis of alternative conventions and an encouraging measure of agreement is observed.

Dissociation of hydrogen sulphide in seawater and comparison of pH scales
TL;DR: The conditional protonization constant of HS− in seawater of different salinities can be used to modify the Gran plots (Hansson and Jagner, 1973) for alkalinity measurements in anoxic seawater.

Theoretical model for the formation of ion-pairs in seawater
TL;DR: In this paper, predictions of association constants for ion-pair formation in seawater were compared to measured constants as a test for the existence of ion-pairs, and a fair agreement was obtained in most cases, although the theoretical electrostatic calculations indicate that significant chloride ionpairing should occur which has not been observed in most experimental investigations.

Formation and stability of mixed Mg2+/Ca2+/phytate species in synthetic seawater media: Consequences on ligand speciation
TL;DR: The results of a potentiometric investigation (by ISE-H+, glass electrode) on the speciation of phytate ion (Phy12−) in an ionic medium simulating the major components (Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Cl− and SO42−) of natural seawater, at different salinities and t = 25°C, are reported in this article.

High-speed computers as a supplement to graphical methods--V. HALTAFALL, a general program for calculating the composition of equilibrium mixtures.
TL;DR: A computer program, HALTAFALL, is described which calculates the equilibrium concentrations of the species in mixtures of any number of components, which can formAny number of complexes and solid phases, provided concentrations (or partial pressures) can be used in the equilibrium calculations.
