TLDR
The 3-step Gossamer road map to solar sailing is presented that has been agreed between DLR and ESA in November 2009 as mentioned in this paper, the main and exclusive purpose of that project is to develop, to prove, and to demonstrate the solar sail technology as a safe and reliably manageable propulsion technique for long lasting and deep space missions.

Drag sails for space debris mitigation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that using drag augmentation from a deployable drag-sail to de-orbit a satellite in LEO will lead to a reduction in collision risk.

Degradation of metallic surfaces under space conditions, with particular emphasis on Hydrogen recombination processes

TL;DR: In this paper, the formation of hydrogen bubbles on metallic foil surfaces has been studied and a thermodynamic model of bubble formation has been developed to predict how the solar wind and electromagnetic radiation degrade metallic structures.
