The catalytic isomerization of 1-hexene on H-ZSM-5 zeolite: The effects of a shape-selective catalyst

TLDR
In this paper, the isomerization of 1-hexene on 60 80 -mesh ZSM-5 zeolite was studied in the temperature range 200-280 °C and the results were compared with those previously obtained for HY at 200 °C.

Chemical mechanisms of catalytic cracking over solid acidic catalysts: alkanes and alkenes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss chemical mechanisms of most important reactions that take place in the course of catalytic cracking of alkenes and alkanes over solid acidic catalysts.

Gasoline conversion: reactivity towards cracking with equilibrated FCC and ZSM-5 catalysts

TL;DR: In this article, a straight run FCC gasoline using either a steamed ZSM-5 catalyst or a base, FCC equilibrium, catalyst shows that the only significantly reactive components in the gasoline fraction are normal and branched olefins with a carbon number of seven and higher.

Silicalite, a new hydrophobic crystalline silica molecular sieve

TL;DR: In this article, a new polymorph of SiO2 (silicalite, refractive index 1.39, density 1.76 g cm−3) has been proposed, which encloses a three-dimensional system of intersecting channels defined by 10-rings wide enough to adsorb molecules up to 0.6 nm diameter.

Methanol conversion on acidic ZSM-5, offretite, and mordenite zeolites: A comparative study of the formation and stability of coke deposits

TL;DR: The role played by shape-selective properties of the zeolites on their behavior towards coking and aging and also the effect of coking on the availability of Bronsted acidic sites have been particularly emphasized in this paper.

Shape-selective reactions with zeolite catalysts: II. Selective disproportionation of toluene to produce benzene and p-Xylene

TL;DR: In this paper, a mechanism was proposed where oxides of these elements, present in the zeolites, reduce the dimensions of pore openings and channels sufficiently to favor formation and outward diffusion of p-xylene, the isomer with the smallest minimum dimension.
