TLDR
In this article, the assignment of the absorption spectra of 2-hydroxytropone (2-HT) was reported by measuring the circular dichroism spectra, and it was concluded that the first (270-400 nm) and second (210-270 nm) bands are respectively composed of two electronic transitions having perpendicular and parallel polarizations with respect to the long axis of 2 -HT.

TL;DR: In this paper, the orientation of FCA and FCA− in β-CDx is conjectured to be different by almost 90 degree in the X-Z plane, provided that the positions of these species in the cavity are the same.

On the Theory of Optical Rotatory Power

TL;DR: In this paper, the Born theory of optical activity in quantum-mechanical form is simplified with the aid of certain approximations, leading to a simple expression for the rotatory parameter of an active molecule in terms of the geometrical configuration and the polarizability tensors of its constituent groups.

The Circular Dichroism Spectra of the β-Cyclodextrin Complex with Naphthalene Derivatives

TL;DR: In this article, the steric effect of substituents on the formation of β-cyclodextrin complexes with naphthalene derivatives was investigated, and a remarkable difference in the spectra was observed between the 1-substituted naphalene complex and the 2-substantially substituted naphhalene complex.

Ultra-violet absorption spectra of tropone, troponium ion, tropolone and 2,4,6-octatrienal

TL;DR: In this paper, the interaction between (CC) 3 and CO groups was investigated for λ max and f values of the ultra-violet spectra of tropone (I), tropone ion (I, II), troponium ion (C 7 H 6 OH) + (II), tropolone (III) and 2,4,6-octatrienal (IV), and good results were obtained for the difference in the spectral intensity of the spectra observed with I and IV.

The electronic structure and spectrum of tropone

TL;DR: In this article, the electronic structure and spectrum of tropone were studied by paying special attention to an assignment of the 300 mμ band and the band was shown to have a single π→π* character overlapped by an n → π* transition from the following experimental and theoretical studies.
