Discrete spectral peak estimation in incoherent backscatter heterodyne lidar. II. Correlogram accumulation

TL;DR: The correlogram, an alternative to formation of the periodogram from the time series data sample, consists of a set of autocorrelation estimates for some number of lags obtained directly from the data sample.

Nonlinear characterization of a simple process in human vision.

Peter Neri
- 05 Nov 2009 -
TL;DR: This work uses psychophysical reverse correlation to fully characterize a simple process in human vision, the perception of brightness in a center-surround annular stimulus, and shows that behavioral second-order kernels can be successfully derived using reverse correlation, and furthermore that they can be effectively exploited to simulate human vision.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiresolution stochastic hybrid shape models with fractal priors

TL;DR: This work introduces a new shape-modeling scheme that can transform smoothly from local to global models or vice versa and embeds these multiresolution shape models in a probabilistic framework and uses them for recovery of anatomical structures in the human brain from MRI data.
Journal ArticleDOI

An encoding and retrieval model of single-trial free recall

TL;DR: A process model of single-trial free recall which conforms to the constraints imposed by convolution and correlation is presented and some of the strengths and limitations of the model are discussed and contrasted with those of other models of free recall.
